Academy Graduation
Against the backdrop of the soaring towers of Central Command 500 Space Patrol graduates march across the parade deck as a squadron of attack fighters fly overhead and a military band plays stirring patriotic music. The formation reaches the reviewing stands and officers speak about the value of courage, integrity, honesty, and commitment. They speak of the responsibility of protecting the Empire and its citizens and exploring unknown planets to search for both hidden dangers and opportunities for trade. They stress that the Patrol, more than any other service, is dedicated to upholding honour and truth as inviolate principles.
The graduates sing the Imperial Anthem and the Space Patrol hymn and then, shouldering their bags, march off in double columns to board the gleaming starships that will be their home for the years to come as they enter Imperial service as full-fledged members of the Space Patrol.
Then the holographic reality display shuts down and leaves the 23 graduates standing in the somewhat shabby assembly room of Outer System Recruit Training Depot 175. They gather their gear and walk across the cracked and broken plaza to the aging and obsolete transport ships waiting to take them on the journey to their new duty stations along the rim of Imperial space.
