A group of adventurers find themselves in the town of Brandle Falls in a remote part of the Realm of Taragore at the edge of the Hasken mountains. Brandle Falls is held in fief by Baron Sir Domor Vilmarith from Queen Mayra of Taragore and is the capital of the Barony of Halmaran. Mayor Judeth Simril is responsible for the day to day administration of the town, her office is appointed by Sir Domor. The town and immediate area have a population of somewhat more than 4500 people (predominantly human). In addition to farms, there are silver and iron mines, and beds of very fine clay that are used by the celebrated local ceramic industry. The town is built at the foot of a tall, sheer cliff that is the edge of miles of impassable mountains, although there are improbable stories of strange and fantastic beings living isolated valleys cut off from the rest of the world. Ancient ruins were discovered when the population of Taragore expanded into the wilderness about 150 years ago, about 70 years ago a town was founded on those ruins. The area had apparently been uninhabited for centuries. The player characters have arrived as caravan guards, having come from the heart of the Realm. They have been paid off and are at loose ends. About half an hour after being paid an earthquake shakes the town and reveals a hidden tunnel in the cliff at the edge of the Old Plaza, releasing a trapped evil. The group is asked to step up and sort it all out. Game Access: app.roll20.net/join/7425124/r04W5Q

I am thinking of creating a barbarian, Human variant or something exotic race-wise. Does anyone have thoughts on what classes they want to play?

I'm looking at either a High Elf Bladesinger or a Human Bard. Either would be fighter-mages, albeit with somewhat different focuses. Most of the spell use would be going towards buffing their combat ability, with some utility spells and a very little caballistic artillery capacity.

Probably going with a Mage. No idea yet on race.

Or maybe Warforged Fighter, if you are allowing them in the campaign.

Warforged is fine. I'll find a write up on them.
