The Creation of the World
The Gods built the world, raising up the first column of water out of the primordial sea, placing the first land on it and calling it Ature. The Gods created the first Men and the Fey and the first peoples lived in harmony and praised the Gods for their kindness.
Some of the Gods chafed under the authority of the Divine Council and went among the people and encouraged them to question the Divine Councils decisions and disregard their authority.
The Gods warred among themselves and the Divine Council was sundered forever. The land of Ature was shattered by the will of the Gods, leaving only scattered islands. Rival Gods raised up more columns of water, new lands were added, and new races and creatures were created.
The Nature of the World
The world is made up of huge columns of water that support various continents and islands, these columns of water are separated from each other by gulfs of air many miles wide. The water in the columns rises up along the exterior and flows inward towards land, making it quite difficult for a sea going vessel to fall over the edge (if not impossible). The columns are quite tall, rising up from the unknown primordial sea far below. The exact height is unknown, but explores have descended down the outside of the columns for approximately 300 miles without seeing any bottom, at that point the storms and thick water vapour make it impossible to go any lower. Each column of water supports a varied undersea ecosystem.
Above the World
The Gods also created various fragments of land and set them floating above the surface of the world. These fragments range in size from a few dozen yards to hundreds of miles across and can be found from a few hundred yards to many miles above the land, all the way to the fringe of airless space.
The Gods
The Gods of this world are not known by any aspect or attributes, all that is known for most of them are their names. After the battles that followed the sundering of the Divine Council they withdrew utterly from the world and their influence on the world, if there is any, cannot be perceived.
The names of the Gods that are know are Avinure, Rondorim, Seddaray, Penniomari, and Tallavinnask.
